Hi folks!

I'm trying to create an AMS Noweb document class following the directions in chapter 5 of the Customization documentation. I'm on Mac OS X 10.4, and have created two files in ~/Library/Application Support/ LyX-1.4/layouts:

literate-amsarticle.layout
literate-amsbook.layout

These are basically simple edits of literate-article.layout and literate-book.layout, respectively. literate-amsarticle.layout reads as follows:

- --------------------------------snip snip--------------------------------
#% Do not delete the line below; configure depends on this
#  \DeclareLaTeXClass[article,noweb.sty]{article (AMS, Noweb)}
# literate-article textclass definition file.
# Author : Edmar Wienskoski Jr. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Format 2
Preamble
        \usepackage{noweb}
EndPreamble

Input amsart.layout
Input literate-scrap.inc
- --------------------------------snip snip--------------------------------

literate-amsbook.layout reads as follows:

- --------------------------------snip snip--------------------------------
#% Do not delete the line below; configure depends on this
#  \DeclareLaTeXClass[book,noweb.sty]{book (AMS, Noweb)}
# literate-book textclass definition file.
# Author : Edmar Wienskoski Jr. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Format 2
Preamble
        \usepackage{noweb}
EndPreamble

Input amsbook.layout
Input literate-scrap.inc
- --------------------------------snip snip--------------------------------

I've opened LyX, selected "Tools -> Reconfigure," quit LyX, and opened LyX again. I now have my "article (AMS, Noweb)" and "book (AMS, Noweb)" document classes available, but when I attempt to use them, the results are just wrong. Looking at the generated LaTeX (and I don't know LaTeX, so I'm afraid I can't offer much in the way of diagnostics), I notice that things I would expect to see, e.g. "\usepackage{noweb}," simply aren't there. I suspect that I'm being bitten by LaTeX's dynamic scoping and the way that the AMS support in LyX is structured, but this is merely a guess. Any insights into how to create an "AMS + Noweb" document class for articles and books would be greatly appreciated. I am not subscribed to the list, so please reply directly if you are able and willing.

Many thanks and best regards,
Paul Snively
