Simple enough for the "book" document class.
Just write whatever you want to appear on the cover page.
Then, use the "title" and "author" paragraph types after that,
to create the title page. The title stuff always starts
a new page, so the stuff before the title ends up on
an earlier page which will be your cover. You may
want to reset the page numbering though, the
cover is probably not meant to be "page 1".
