Kurt,

I also had exactly that problem for a long time on my Mac. It has to do with the
Fonts in your ~/Library/Fonts directory. For some bizarre reason some
LaTeX installations put their own fonts there which results in the display
of these characters. I solved it by removing all fonts from ~/Library/Fonts
and every program worked fine after that including LyX.

Best wishes,

Hi together,

I typed my thesis using LyX (1.4.1) on my Apple PowerBook. When I open the
LyX file on my PC (1.4.1)some special characters are displayed wrong: in
math mode the greek letter sigma is shown as 1/4, \mu as superscript 1 and
so on.
So I guess that this is related with a different encoding on the two
computers, but I don't know how to fix this.
Any suggenstions how to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance,
Kurt
