I thought it was always "licks", but I could see people using "leeks".

And LaTeX was always la-Tech, not lay-tech for me.

Why can't computer people come up with pronounceable names like Windows, Word,
and Excel?

Ha!  These three months are when we work!  Finally the undergrads are away and
we can get something done.  And for untenured junior faculty, you get no
vacation at all...
