  AFAIR, this should be fixed in 1.4.4.

  For the moment the only option is to copy everything inside the note, cut it 
and paste it outside, removing the note afterwards. Again I think this will 
be simplified in 1.4.4 by allowing to dissolve the note if backspace is 
pressed in the first position.
