CMD.EXE was started with the above path as the current directory.
UNC paths are not supported. Defaulting to Windows directory.

I believe that the problem is that my Application Data folder is on a windows
server. Is there a way to force Lyx to use the local drive instead?
If you can find a successful configuration on your local drive (meaning
you can find where the configuration script wrote its output -- looks
like maybe C:\Windows?), then all you have to do is edit the start-up
icon. Right click the icon, select properties, and add to the Target:
line the following: --userdir C:\<whatever>. If the path contains
spaces, wrap it in double quotes.
An alternative approach is to modify the batch file to use your existing
Application Data folder. (I can't test this myself, since we don't run
off servers here, but *hypothetically* this should work. Or at least
might work. Maybe.) Open a DOS prompt and run 'set H'. I'm guessing
you'll have HOMEDRIVE set to \\fsgbl1 and HOMEPATH set to \mig$, but I
could be wrong. If I'm write, pick an unused drive letter (let's say Q
for example) and add a line to the top of lyx.bat that reads 'subst Q:
\\fsgbl1' (minus the quotes). Then see if you can run LyX and get it to
put a configuration in your App Data directory.
Please cc email replies to my email address as I don't read this list....
I tried, but I doubt it will get there. I read the list through GMANE,
GMANE obfuscates sender e-mail addresses, and for a few months now it
has refused to forward mail I send directly (although it used to).
Probably thinks I'm a spammer.
