Yes it works, you can omit my more complex solution and use your
original code. Just assure that you have an EPS- and a JPEG- or PNG-
or PDF-version of the ant image avialable.

En lyx-1.3.7 work without problem, with de above code. In lyx-1.4.3
don't work, not with eps, not with pdf. Can be a problem of convert
dvips ? I use mandriva 2007 as SO.
