In, Menu>Tools>Preferences>Paths is an entry "Temporary directory". This directory is different in different systems, that is why I wanted you to see where is yours. On linux, my temporary directory is "/tmp". So, files lyx_tmpdir????? or lyx_tmpbuf??? are in "/tmp" on my system. On yours, it would be probably "C:\Documents and Settings\..." You will find lyx_tmp... files there. Vasek
