Hi all,

Today I just used my first character style (LyX 1.4.2), and it didn't go well.
I simply wanted a way to define text within a paragraph (not the whole
paragraph, just some text within it) as code. I wanted it typewriter font
both in LyX and in the output. So I did this:

Preamble
\newenvironment{charcode}{\ttfamily}{\rmfamily}
EndPreamble

CharStyle Charcode
Font
        Family Typewriter
EndFont
LatexName charcode
LatexType Environment
End

I then highlighted a word, Insert->Style->Charcode, and within LyX the word
had a little math like square around it saying charcode, and it was
typewriter font. So far so good.

Then I viewed as postscript and the trouble began. It made that word, and
*everything after that word for pages and pages* typewriter font. Oops!

I have a feeling there's something about Character styles I don't yet "grok",
and sure would appreciate if anyone has a good exampple.

Thanks
