The MiKTeX shipped with the last installer is not Vista-ready. The next LyX version comes out next week with an updated MiKTeX version.

But the second problem ist, that I can not start lyx. It seems to be there is no python available. But I thought this application comes with lyx?
Don't you have a python.exe in LyX's \bin directory or somewhere else on your computer? regards Uwe
