I actually have 1.5.0beta1 and 1.5.0svn and this "slowness" is identical to
1.4.4.
It would be nice if you could test with the latest snapshot of the
upcoming Qt4.3. I've been told that it's much quicker at drawing,
especially on MacOS.
Interestingly though there is no "slowness" issue with 1.5.0beta1
under Ubuntu Linux on the same machine.
This is a known fact. The problem is not really within LyX but within Qt
text drawing.
