Hi,
The question has been asked several times already.
My apoligies. Ideed, this time I forgot to look at the archive.
Well, it seems that Lyx users already decided on this topic.

FWIW, there seems to be a reply-to-list extension coming for T-bird, but
it may not go gold until T-bird 3.0 is out
(http://www.asoftsite.org/s9y/archives/114-thunderbird-+-reply-to-list-...-here-it-comes.html,
http://alumnit.ca/wiki/index.php?page=ReplyToListThunderbirdExtension).
If you google 'thunderbird "reply to list"' you'll find a bunch of other
hits. Apparently (a) Reply to All will reply to the list but (b) will
also send a copy directly to the original poster (so that s/he gets two
copies of the reply). There are supposedly hacks to the T-bird
configuration to eliminate the duplicate, but I can't confirm them
(particularly since I don't subscribe to the list).
Which brings me to my last point. There's an alternative to subscribing
to the list, which is to use T-birds news group feature to subscribe to
the gmane.editors.lyx.general news group at news.gmane.org (port 119).
Occasionally the news server gets a bit slow, but generally it seems to
keep up very well, and you get all the benefits of a news group
(archived messages, threading, ...). They also have a search engine
(http://search.gmane.org/) for the archive. Replies go to the newsgroup
(meaning the list) by default. The only downside is that GMANE mungs
the address of the original poster, so it's hard to reply to them directly.
