I think it would still be useful to have some kind of force regeneration mechanism. Lyx cannot know about all possible changes that require a rerun of Latex. For example, today I had a problem where pdftex could not find a new font I installed because I had forgotten to run updmap. After running updmap, I had to trick Lyx into rerunning latex. Phil
