I just installed the debian experimental (1.5.0 rc2) version of lyx to try it (read on before commenting on th now outdated status of this package ;)

That's not exactly a big concern, but... why is the "Preferences" entry of the menu in the "Tools" menu instead of the more usual "Edit" place? (not sure of the exact names, my lyx is hopefully in french).

Each time I try to configure something, after searching in vain in the Edit menu, I finally remember I have to go elsewhere. I suppose I could get used to it and finally stop this nonsensical search, but I wonder if it is necessary.

Note I'm not using the very last version, which is 1.5.0, but this one is not yet avaible as deb. Maybe this has already be fixed in the .0 version, in which case I can just be ignored...

I don't really remember how it was in previous version (recently, I was using two different versions of lyx because nobody what upgrading the 1.3 version at the university, which caused endless problems), but I don't remember of any problems of this kind (but then I've had a 2 month break of using Lyx).

Keep up the good work!

Mickaël (Happy Lyx user since 0.12 or so)
