I don't know what changed, but I probably have a solution. In the
Finder, select any .pdf file, and choose File > Get Info. In the
window that pops up, select change the default viewer for .pdf
documents (in the Open with: tab). You may have to change it to
something you don't want (and hit the "Change All..." button) and
then change it back to what you do want (again, hitting the "Change
All ..." button). Then LyX should work fine.
