Thank, Jurgen! I did use the reconfigure but it didn't work. Actually I think that's how the problem was caused - that's a bug. Following words are from the 1.5.2 release note. It may describe this problem: "** Bug fixes: ************* * DOCUMENT INPUT/OUTPUT - Reconfiguration failure will no longer result in empty textclass lists. Lyx now starts and asks for reconfigure if no textclass is found (bug 2829)." I will try the lasted version see what will happen then. Unfortunately I have to drag the school's IT Service people to come here to log in the administrator's account to do so. This took 2 weeks last time...... Thanks very much for your help! Shuo
