Can anyone offer any advice/help please.
I have spent some time compiling LyX 1.5.2 and QT4
here at Aberystywth. We have a set of Unix machines
running slightly different versions of Solaris 10.
I have just compiled and installed both QT4 and LyX 1.5.2
on a machine running the August issue of Solaris 10. uname -a gives...
"SunOS dante 5.10 Generic_120011-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240"
On this machine, when I try to run LyX I get a segmentation fault
and starting it with truss the final output says......
Incurred fault #6, FLTBOUNDS %pc = 0xFF1C6084
siginfo: SIGSEGV SEGV_MAPERR addr=0x4DD5B908
Received signal #11, SIGSEGV [default]

However, if I try to run it on another machine with
a slightly older version of Solaris 10
"SunOS asterix 5.10 Generic_118833-24 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R"
it starts fine.
I am running exactly the same version of LyX (it's
coming from NFS attached filestore off one of our file servers).
As I thought we might have some issue with
versions of things, the version I am running on BOTH these
machines was all actually compiled (which worked fine)
on the one where running it crashes!
I can also start it fine on yet another machine where uname -a gives...
"SunOS magni 5.10 Generic_118822-19 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-880"
We have another machine running the August 2007
version of Solaris 10 and it fails there as well.
So, I have two machines where it fails, several where
it works and it was compiled on one of the ones where it fails
to run....

p.s. Before folks ask, I did earlier try compiling
using the machines with older versions of Solaris 10
but I still had crashes if I ran it on the machine
with August 2007 Solaris then as well.
