I down loaded Math.lyx, put in in /usr/local/share/lyx/doc (Linux box),
downloaded the extra image listed below, opened Math.lyx in Lyx and ran
pdflatex. Worked like a charm.

I have tried with dvi and ps and it works. It is something about pdf. I
have tried also to export pdf with pdflatex. And I obtain a pdf file
with 362 kb but when i try to reopen i obtain the same mistake.

After that i can use view-pdf. In spite of the fact that lyx seems to
compile, when acrobat reader opens, then acrobat tell me that my file
is corrupted or has an error. It says literally: "There was an error
opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."
Oh, this is strange. I never had this case, also not with other LyX
documents. Can you open the PDF when you export it first to PDF using
pdflatex?
