Hello friends from the lyx-list!
I'm new to Lyx and to this kind of program. I have Lyx 1.5.3 under Ubuntu.
When I select a template (f. i. "docbook_article.lyx" I get that the class or
style archive from Latex is missing. What have I to do in order to get
templates working? Where get I know how about the use of tamplates?
Docbook isn't LaTeX but, well, docbook, and LyX is just telling you that
you don't have the necessary supporting files. You probably don't want
this, actually, but rather to use LaTeX, so just choose something that
isn't docbook. There are probably also LaTeX packages you don't have
that are needed by other templates and document classes, but this is
normal. LyX ships with a lot more "layouts" than anyone has or needs. If
you want to use one you don't have, then you just need to install the
right LaTeX class files. E.g., if you want to use the europecv layout,
you need to get and install the europecv.cls class file. There are
instructions about how to do this in Ch 5 of the Customization manual.
And how I can get Lyx fully in Spanish and not in English?
Other people will know this....
Many questions ... I believe this is normal with a newcomer?
Yes.
