You shouldn't mix up table and math spacings. For infos about table spacing, have a look at the
EmbeddedObjects manual.
You mean the fonts within LyX or in the PDF. To get nicer fonts within LyX,
upgrade from LyX 1.4.5
to LyX 1.5.4. For the PDF, use e.g. the Latin Modern fonts.
I am using latin modern. I am looking for something better to render
vector and matrices parenthesis.
What do you mean with better? As said, for better fonts in LyX use LyX 1.5.
