I installed LyX 1.5.4 as you suggested. Everything works fine now except:
A) The Update PDF icon has disappeared and LyX cannot export a PDF file if I
am currently viewing a PDF rendering of the current LyX file.
B) At start up, a command window appears with the statement:
lyx: Disabling LyX socket.
I can operate with these 'slight' problems but would appreciate to know if
they are features or errors.
