Typically one can type Alt-` (` is the symbol on the same key as ~) to switch windows within an application, while Alt-Tab can switch applications.
I find that in LyX if I have a window such as Document Settings open then I can switch back to the main LyX window via Alt-` but then another Alt-` inserts the ³`² character in my LyX document in addition to switching windows. Is this a bug? James
