Vertical spacing in table of contents

I am using Lyx 1.5.4 on Windows XP. I have written a 232 page document
using the report class.

The table of contents runs over 4 pages. On the fourth page, the vertical
spacing between the lines increases automatically so that these lines
(less in number) occupy the whole page. How can I make the vertical
spacing between lines uniform in the table of contents?

Any help will be appreciated
