I'm on Kubuntu Gutsy (7.10. I believe) with LyX 1.5.3
It sounds as if there must be a parser problem. The parser is pretty
basic, really, and I'm sure there are plenty of ways to confuse it. If
you send me the bib file, I can have a look.
