Please have a look at the UserGuide, sec 6.4, to see how an appendix is inserted. (The UserGuide is
btw. also a koma-script document.)
This is the first issue. The second appendix issue is this: -

option gives no way to put something after an appendix (from what i can
see).. Is this by design or am i misunderstanding somthing?
This is by dsign since the appendix is the last part of a document. Seen from a typographers view,
the normal document is ended and the the appendix starts.
