The lecture notes style is given by the llncs.cls class. If that is the one you
want to use, then LyX includes already a layout.
The svjour3.cls class is for journals. The layout that you created should work (if I am not wrong). Be sure that you reconfigure LyX to
have the layout available.

The svglov3.clo and svjour3.cls files provided by springer are installed in
tex\latex\sv-journ3. Springer also provides a template latex file that renders
correctly in TeXnicCenter but not in Lyx when imported.
Can someone help with this?
