LIKED:
- Developers were very responsive to issues raised by users (primarily in the user group), and most issues were fixed in the next release candidate. - Releases were made close to the scheduled date. This encourages users to be involved in the process by knowing when to check back with the next release.

DISLIKED:
- Large numbers of "release candidates" rather than alpha and beta releases. I would prefer to see most of the big kinks ironed out in alpha releases, minor issues and newly discovered issues in beta, and release candidates should be fairly robust. This was not the case with the 1.6.0 series. IMHO the release was pushed out of beta too soon. I think that the philosophy I outlined is consistent with that on the LyX wiki, but the 1.6 series was not.

Overall, I think 1.6.0 is a marked improvement over the 1.5.x series, and the development team deserves a pat on the back for it!

Hi all,
in order to improve the development process of LyX I would to call for
feedback regarding the development of 1.6.0

I have decide to wait a bit before asking for a public evaluation avoid the transient state that occurs after the release. We are now in a better way to evaluate the procedure with enough distance as to guarantee a more objective
view while at the same time the details are still fresh in memory.

What did you like in the development of 1.6.0 and what do you think that
could be improved?
