Subject: Error message when trying to see the pdf

I'm new to LyX and LaTex.
I saved a document yesterday, but didn't try to view it as a pdf.
I resume work today on that same doc and when I tried to view it, I got
the following error message:

...SI 5408 Applied Optimization/Homeworks/HW#0

3/\string"/}}

You meant to type ## instead of #, right?

Or maybe a } was forgotten somewhere earlier, and things

are all screwed up? I'm going to assume that you meant ##.

 I had and # symbol in many places in the document. However, I wrote a
similar document the other week (my first document created with this
software) without any error message.

Can you help me to get around it? Is there any kind of update to LyX
1.6.1 (about Lyx reads: LyX version 1.6.1 Sat, Dec 13, 2008)

Thanks,

Cesar
