Hi there -

I'm using LyX 1.6.1 on a Mac, and I'm trying to add a custom article style
but running into a problem. I've put my .layout file in my LyX user
directory, in a folder called "layouts". I put my style file in the same
directory. However, when I make a new document and go to Documents >
Settings > Document Class, the style I install is listed as "Unavailable".
When I pick it, I get a message that says "The layout file requested by this
document, article-algo.layout, is not usable. This is probably because a
LaTeX class or style file required by it is not available. See the
Customization documentation for more information. LyX will not be able to
produce output."

I looked at the customization documentation, and it doesn't say anything
about where .sty files are supposed to go. I can see the article-algo.sty
file listed in styFiles.lst, with the correct location. I can see it when I
click Tools > TeX Information. I've reconfigured LyX a couple of times. I
don't know what else to do - LyX clearly sees the style file, and clearly
found the layout file. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Charles
