"Normal" latex (pdftex) cannot simply use system fonts but need special latex support files. > I install the full LiveTex. You might try if there is some Eskimo font with LaTeX support by looking at "The LaTeX Font Catalogue" http://www.tug.dk/FontCatalogue/ or in your texmf tree. The other option is to use XeTeX. This is currently not supported by LyX out of the box, but the lyx wiki (wiki.lyx.org) has tips on getting it up and running with some workarounds. Günter
