This is correct. You also need to uninstall MiKTeX (_completely_!) when the version is older than MiKTeX 2.6. After that run the LyX-162-4-18-AltInstaller-Complete.exe again.
The current version of MiKTeX is 2.7 and only version 2.6 and 2.7 are supported by the MiKTeX developer. regards Uwe
