Not a lyx question, but a beamer question: When used with all default settings, beamer will produce navigation symbols at the bottom right of the page. If hyperlinks are used in the document, all hyperlinks will have boxes drawn around them. The result is, that all the navigation symbols have boxes drawn around them, which makes them ugly and unreadable.
