hi, i had a similar problem.

you could try this : LyX preferences > look and feel > screen fonts :
1) set zoom to 100%
2) increase the font sizes of all the sub-options
3) set dpi to 72
4) set roman font to "helvetica" :)
5) uncheck "use pixmap cache to speed up font rendering" !!!
