I have been trying quite a lot setting up Lyx to work with Japanese (specifically the Hiragino Mincho otf) and a font with lots of diacritics (specifically Times Extended ttf), but I haven't yet been able to do it. I used both Ubuntu and Windows, MiKtex, Texlive and pTex, but there is always some problem or something missing or some encoding error. I have also tried converting the fonts and making tfm but to no avail. I have followed almost all the tutorials online. Although I was very enthusiastic about the whole Lyx and latex thing, I am now beginning to hate it. I hope someone can help me with some clear instructions in order to use the two fonts above mentioned and make a pdf file out of the lyx one. Thank you in advance.
