Like others had said: Use Beamer in LyX. Change class, super easy Document>settings>document class>presentation (beamer)
in preamble, change the theme. See http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/beamer/doc/beameruserguide.pdf for various themes I draw graphs with powerpoint, using mathtype for math. I print the figure as a pdf. The upload pdf picture to my presentation.
