PDF does not load in Lyx 1.6.4 Alternate Installer

Hi,

I upgraded from the previous version. Image prefiews of PDF graphics do 
not load as previews any more ("Error converting to loadable format.") 
Unfortunately I cannot undo the upgrade.

Help would  be appreciated.
