I migrated a LaTex project into Lyx. (karmic, Lyx1.3) The document has many numbers with a unit like 2.5 µl or 280 nm² etc. In LaTex I used the http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/unitsdef.html unitsdef package . It makes sure that the actual unit is not separated from the value. It also expresses indices and exponents correctly and so on. I included the usepackage in the preamble. But somehow the specific commands are not processed correctly. In fact they are not processed at all.
Has anybody used unitsdef in Lyx? Does someone know about a different solution that does the same thing? ----- Und wozu?
