Sounds very complex to me (I've always found wikis very complex to work with, perhaps I'm too old). Especially since the wiki is password protected.
If people want to try Tango-derived icons for LyX, just let me know, I attach a screenshot to this email. The screenshot is reduced to 256 colours, because I could not fit any screen shot in the 60KB requested by the mailing list (So I've had my third failure in writing to the list in less than 24 hours, all failures due to arbitrary limitations).
