Thanks Mariano. Everything seems to be correctly configured. As I wrote in my first email, I have been using aspell in Lyx under XP (which seems to be your case) without a problem. The thing is that under OS X it doesn't work as required.
The only thing different in my Lyx configuration is that the default language is Spanish instead of English. Everything else is exactly the same. Again, thanks for trying.
