What have you done? You opened the Tutorial via the menu Help->Tutorial and the pressed the DVI button?
Or have you created a new document and then pressed the DVI button? If the latter is the case can you please send the LyX file you created? Besides this, what is your OS and what LyX version are you using? regards Uwe
