I think you actually have to click on the image in the document again before any manipulation is begun. If you don't, the dialogue box is actually addressing the image from the original directory, then when manipulated, scaled by percentage or whatever, or even just click OK it reproduces the image, giving you another that's been changed, because the dialogue box references the image in the folder anew, ***not*** the image in the document already. So just click on the image in the document already and the dialogue box pops up, then manipulate it, and it will be working on the image in the document, not the one in the directory from where it was pulled.
