Because * some boxes (e.g. shaded ones) always allow page breaks (and you must put them in another box to inhibit page breaks), * others require special latex code to allow them, and * (most probably) some boxes never allow page breaks because they only exist to keep content on one page. To see what happens "behind the scenes", you can enable the source view (View>Source) and play with the settings. Günter
