index, page range problem

Hi,

Lyx (Koma or Memoir) on Mac OS X (10.5.8 PPC) doesn't generate page  
range in index list. I insert "Jim|(" and then "Jim|)" but the  
generated index shows just "Jim,".

Any help greatly appreciated.
