I did a cleanup of the registry with CCleaner, after removing LyX. What I may not have done is kill off the user profile file at the same time. I know I deleted it on Paul Rubin's advice but I'm not sure that I went back and did it again before a re-install (using the "normal" installer not the LyxInstaller) Also I am not sure if I shutdown at that point or not. I know I had rebooted a couple of times but I am not clear at what exact point. I'll get rid of MixTex too and try LyXWinInstaller after killing off the user profile. Thanks
