Please file an enhancement request. I suppose the author of that
layout file was not aware that lists are possible with g-brief2.

In the meantime, you can either use ERT (TeX mode), or you can modify
g- brief2.layout yourself: Copy it to your user directory, open it in
an editor and add the line
Input stdlists.inc
at the bottom of the file.
This was easy enough for me and it works pretty well. Thanks. BTW I
added it to the other Input-lines.
