Re: Adding bibliography environment adds key-2[] at end of document rather than Bibliography

To add to this on an earlier draft of this document I see the source 
code is

\bibliographystyle{apalike2}
\bibliography{jbatsbib}

On this document and indeed I have now tried this with a couple of new 
documents, adding the bibliography environment is adding

\begin{thebibliography}{99}
\bibitem{key-10}
\end{thebibliography}
