Hi,

I've been using LyX on Linux for a long time (wrote several papers and my
thesis with it), but this is the first time I've tried to use it on a Mac. I'm
running OS X 10.6.4, and installed LyX 1.6.7 via MacPorts (I'm regretting not
just using the binary, but that's another thread). I have a slightly annoying
problem in that the text cursor seems to be off by one character on occasion.
I can't get a screenshot with the cursor in it, so I'll try to describe it in
more detail.

I have a line that contains the following text: 'word1, word2'. If I press
the back arrow 6 times, the cursor should be right after the comma.. But it
appears to be halfway between the comma and the 'w'. We all know you can't
have two spaces in a row in LyX, and there aren't: when I hit the mac's delete
key (i.e., backwards delete), the comma goes away. If I reinsert the comma,
then press the back arrow one time, the cursor is just to the right of the
comma, but backwards-deleting gets rid of the '1'.

I'm going to be writing a 15-page paper over the next month, and I'm sure you
can imagine that that sort of behavior is going to get annoying really quickly.
Has anyone else run into this, and if so, what was your solution?

thanks,
Derek
