To trace this error took me a while; so I thought, its worthwhile to report on
it.

I am Using Lyx1.6.7 Debian and koma book.

I have inserted a nomenclature item which I coppied and pasted from the
internet. It contains the apostrophs „innere Uhr“

Running view pdf (pdflatex) gave

This Error 84 returned from iconv when converting from UCS-4LE to ISO-8859-15:

I could not export the .tex file.

By taking stepwise parts of the book away I could trace the error to the
nomenclature item mentioned above. Taking away the apostrophes cured the
problem.

What is strange, however: If I put the same „innere Uhr“ in the normal text
there is no error after a pdflatex run.

So apparently the nomenclature has difficulties to convert from UCS-4LE to
ISO-8859-15.

By the way, it would be nice to have a list of enumerated items similar to the
list of figures, list of citations etc. Not sure, whether this is planned.
Its kind of unfair to ask for it, but since I can't program, what I can offer
is to help translating (English to German) or to spend money. And thanks to
all those of you who have made and are still making LyX to such a helpful
device.
