I'm installing 1.6.8 on Windows 7 64-bit for the first time. I want to be able to upgrade to 2.0 whenever that's out.
I understand there were some issues with MiKTeX 2.9. Have these been ironed out, or should I get 2.8? Are there official installers for 64-bit LyX? MiKTeX? Is that even pointless to contemplate?
