Richard, is it possible to make key values accessible from within the layout description? Since the 2011a or 2011b part of the key is constructed by Lyx, I think, that would make it possible to write a standard format, such as: Franchi, Stefano, 2011a, etc. (That would also means that the user could build an ¨improper¨ reference, of course).
